We are a key team player with citizens, local businesses, and other government agencies working together to maintain a proud community with a strong sense of safety and security. Kittitas County Fire Protection District 6 provides responsive services to the citizens and visitors by investing in training, education, staffing and equipment. We are dedicated and compassionate professionals, who recognize our greatest strength lies in our team approach.
District 6 is located in Upper Kittitas County and serves all of Ronald, Lake Cle Elum, Salmon La Sac north to Hex Mountain and parts of Suncadia. The area served consists of 17.2 square miles. We share automatic mutual aid with Cle Elum Fire Department, Roslyn Fire Department and Hospital District 2. We also provide mutual aid to District 7, District 1 and Easton as requested.
We operate three stations located at the northern and southern ends of the district. Services provided by District 6 include Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire Protection and Suppression, and Wildland Fire Fighting. The district is staffed with a mix of full time, part time and volunteer personnel. Our first responders undergo significant training and operate two 4×4 fire engines, two tenders (one being 6×6), two aid units (one being 4×4), three 4×4 brush trucks and a side-by-side rescue unit outfitted with wheels (summer deployment) and tracks (winter deployment).
